Style Design College is an internationally acclaimed Design College started by Designer Mr. Claude Fourie. Mr. Fourie treats every Campus like a child and is active in growing a new Campus and its students. This is one of the reasons why graduates from SDC are sought after across the world.

SDC is more than just a Design College. It's a family. When you join SDC you become part of an International family of designers. SDC operates very much like a family in that past students, now working in industry, are still involved in the College by mentoring younger students. SDC has developed key relationships with top members of the design industry who are active in the College by acting as advisory board members, external moderators or patrons of the institute.
The city of Milan has a long history of producing some of the worlds top artists, designers and creatives – not surprising as the city matches modern world ingenuity with old historic charm.
Another inspiration of the city was Style Design College which started its long history in Milan.
Fashion Capital
Milan's History of Fashion and design started in the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods, Milan received its name from the English word ‘milaner’ meaning fine wares like luxury cloth, jewellery, hat and high quality apparel.
In the early 20th century Milan became an important centre for silk and textile production. In the 1970's Milan became the city of choice for both expensive couture and ready to wear fashion. In 2009 Milan was named the fashion capital of the world.
Design Capital
In the 1950's - 1970's Milan was the main industrial centre of Italy and became Italy's post war capital of design and architecture. As a result the city hosts the most important fairs in Europe for design – ‘FireaMilano’ & ‘Fuori Salone’ that draws Europes best interior design company’s and designers to showcase their latest creations. |
